Great cartoon but I wish people would back off of the sins of her past.I say that because over here, she’ll soon find out that SHE is a minority and if she messes up just once all the Islander would be on her as well as a bunch of us hoale’s. She really is the right person for the job and if she is smart she ain’t gonna do no discriminatin’ over here! I also have a lot of faith in the aloha spirit and I hope she latches on to it very quickly. Just sayin’!

Mahalo for the additional graphic commentary on this situation, following on the previous coverage by Civil Beat. This hiring does not bode well for UH. Like many others who live and work in Hawai'i, I am grateful to UH for our undergraduate degrees, graduate degrees and in many cases, professional lives. All this possible in spite of poor BOR decisions historically, as well as certain other administrators. So we want the very best for its future. I feel a deep obligation towards UH for the high quality of teaching, research and professional experiences, and gratitude for the commitment of David Lassner, a unique president whose tenure has reflected a sense of commitment and obligation. I would be sincerely happy to discover I am wrong to be so deeply worried of this upcoming hire.
