Ashley Ong is the events manager for Honolulu Civil Beat.

Originally from San Francisco, California, Ashley attended college at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. After graduating in 2013 with a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management with minors in Communications and French Language, she embarked on her journey of luxury hotel operations and sales.

Prior to the pandemic, Ashley worked her way through several recognized hotel companies such as St. Regis, Disney, and Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts.

When the opportunity to work for Civil Beat emerged, she decided to pursue her passion of supporting local journalism and to learn more about Hawaiʻi’s important issues.

When she’s not supporting the operations team at Civil Beat, you can find her teaching yoga or swimming at the beach with Civil Beat’s K-9 reporter/golden retriever, Bella.
